Overview

Florida Cancer Affiliates/Ocala Oncology is hiring

a F/T Nurse Practitioner with Oncology Experience to work at the hospitals.

7 on / 7 off work schedule. Bilingual preferred.

  • Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic, hospital or virtually, via telemedicine.
  • Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures after appropriate training.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.


Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Oncology/hematology experience preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
